That's not to say it is the problem, it's just the easiest to address and then go from there. I like live pinky rats for baby dumerils. They can't hurt the snake and I can set them in at night and just walk away leaving the baby undisturbed, left alone in the dark. Just being "there" can be enough of a disturbance for any shy feeders. I picked up a couple yearlings not long ago and they've been the most inconsistent feeders I've ever had to deal with. Sometimes it's just the animal and trying to figure out what their preferences are from prey item, time of day, and frequency.
