50% hets basically only have a 50% chance to carry the recessive gene. Once they are bred and produce those recessive traits, they become 100% hets or proven hets.
100% hets are from pairings where there is no other chance for offspring but to carry one alleles of a particular recessive trait. Usually these are produced by pairing a visual animal for a particular recessive trait with a normal non het animal. In this case, all offspring will carry one of the alleles for the recessive trait.
Possible and probable would mean much the same thing when it comes to genetics. whether its 50% possible het or probably het..its still a 50% chance the animal carries a recessive alleli for a particular recessive trait. 100% proven just means a probably/possible carrier has been bred and produced the desired morph (providing it was bred to an animal that is a carrier of that trait, at least...) ----- PHLdyPayne
