I have a baby mountain horned dragon, age 6 mo or younger, and I believe her tail is broken. I know that when they are stressed they can wiggle their tail but her tail seems more like it is spazaming (sp?) at the base of the tail. Two/three weeks ago her behavior had changed suddenly, and she started opening her mouth really wide and kept arching back and looked like she was trying to bite her tail. I called the vet and they told me to monitor her. Last week I brought her to the vet cause she suddenly had a chunk taken out of her tail two days in a row. I seperated her from her brother and her tail didn't have any more bite marks, but then I also tried putting them together and getting rid of the lone cricket that they hadn't eaten. She has had no more bite marks to this date. However, she continues to display this behavior and now she had even bitten her tail numerous times in front of me. Its like her tail is twitching and she is attacking it. I'm not sure what to do as it seems like she is in discomfort but the vet said there is nothing that they can do as she is so little still. Is there anything i can do to help ease her discomfort if it really is broken? Would there be any other reason she would be acting this way and biting her tail?!! Please help!
