Yeah, that situation is strange. Sometimes they do get into a "feed me" mode, but it doesn't usually last that long. I've had them behave that way when they're too warm as well. Hopefully you get him figured out and end up with a nice litter of Dumerils from him. There's still plenty of time this season.
