As far as gators, they still consider them endangered here (or species of concern) either way, that's their reason for keeping them a permit only species. It's not exactly a difficult permit to get, just have to prove that you have the proper enclosures for the ADULT animals (proper of course being defined by them). Not considered a game species though. Illegal to hunt or kill an alligator in the state. Only wildlife officials are allowed to remove what are deemed "problem" gators.
