seems to vary based on where the snake is found, northern ringneck snake's favorite prey is going to be salamanders, they're go for a salamander 9 times out of 10 if they're set up and are comfortable.
when it comes to them eating other snakes I've had different experiences with them, I had a small male northern ringneck snake, probably 13" that loved eating NEWBORN shorthead garter snakes. But only newborns, and only the baby shortheads, I tried several times after to feed it young eastern garters or northern brown snakes of various sizes with no success.
at the same time I had that snake I had a 24" northern ringneck female that loved salamanders and salamander scented pinkies/fuzzies, but wouldnt go for any snakes, even newborns.

you could most likely house a northern ringneck with any snake of the same size and they'd be alright, but if the ringneck gets hungry enough who knows what would happen.
all ringnecks are different it seems, northerns dont seem to be as much of a snake eater though compared to regals and even southern ringnecks.
