There will be variation between areas so shop around at different ranges. Rocky boulder strewn areas are the best. Cruise roads payinyattention to the rocks-they stick out pretty good. You should have no trouble finding some. Good luck. Get yourself one of those county map books-atlas for southern CA. They show all the secondary roads and are woth the 20 or so bucks.
