I got a small group of young Leos that were rescues. As they began to grow, one started losing weight.

I separated him/her from the rest, and he gradually bulked up and is fine. In this case, must have been some stress due to competition. My guess anyway, I'm no Leo expert at all.

I would separate them and see, can't hurt.

Moisture is important too. Dehydration causes problems. Yes they live in the desert, but they spend most of the time in burrows where they don't dehydrate. In captivity, so many people put them in screen top tanks without any means of conserving moisture, it is just wrong, especially for babies which dehydrate much faster than adults. If using a screen top tank, a humid hide is necessary.
