We started with a lot of 2x4's and ran them on a table saw so that I would get two true 2x2's. Cheaper than buying 2x2's at the store. Set the 2x2's up on a miter saw so correct angles could be cut. Used those for the frame of the tank. Skinned the frames with 3/8" plywood, but thicker plywood would be better for a permanent enclosure. Here's a pic of the tank before it is sent to the bed liner sprayer.

I used the same concept for the tank to make (8) panels that make up the long sides of the enclosure and (4) panels to make up the short sides. Everything is bolted together with the appropriate length bolts. Then a deck is made for basking. This pic we are in the process of putting the sides together and decking it with 1x4's
