Sad to hear about your cold but I am glad the turtles were rescued. We got hit real hard with the cold here in South Eastern Arizona. Temperatures plummeted here far below all know records! It was one degree F at my place and there is a report as low as -6 degrees F at one location. The Eucalyptus trees and palm trees were hit real hard. The spineless prickly pear cactus, which is everywhere, has been reduced to piles of mush. Even the native oak trees froze. My turtle ponds have 3-inch thick ice on them. I am sure any local herps, which weren’t pretty deep, froze to death. I won’t know until spring if my tortoises, which were hibernating outside in the ground, made it. Good luck at your place.
