My large female green is currently cycling and I have two males that I rotate through her cage. Her cage is large at 12’ x 4’ x 6’ cage and has multiple entry doors. Everything is going according to plan, but this is the first year that I’ve had multiple males. I know that males do a lot of roaming while the female is cycling, but having two males in cage has made servicing the cage a real challenge. As soon as I open one of the doors the males come to investigate. I’ve tried to push them to keep them out of the way, but they just keep coming. I’ve actually tried spraying them with the hose and they just keep coming. It is like a scene out of The Night of The Living Dead. It is not a problem, although one knocked my glasses off my head, and is actually a cool display of behavior. It reminds me of a scene where from a program about greens in the wild where a male makes his way through a group of caiman in search of a female.



My question is does anyone see this with males where there is no female present? My assumption is that this behavior is chemical based and is not seasonal.
