sexing gators is covered well in this section. Using the search function will give you much knowledge.



I sex 'gators by different methods. They must be adult or at least at puberty. When captured a male 'gator will "evert" his hemipenes. That is he will pop them out in distress.



The next method is males have a much wider head. If you have only one or have not seen many ever, then this is difficult at best. When you have a male and female in hand the heads are definitely different.



The last method, when all else fails??

The girls lay the eggs! Very common to capture gravid female in March/April.
