Typically the website for the city/town/community you live in lists their by-laws. Not all do but that is one place to check. If none are present, you can check with the local SPCA about exotic laws. Though I would just ask about restrictions on owning large non venomous snakes...they probably won't know what a retic was till they hear the word 'python'.
