Generally speaking NO, it is not. The Mexican government restricts animal exports, but does grant permits on occassion. Usually these go to recognized Zoos, educational/research institutions etc. Many of the animals we see in the trade today come from old founder stock, much of it of questionable origin.



You really don't want to run afoul of these sort of laws, and you should become familiar with the Lacey Act, as the USFWS enforces it vigorously and penalities are severe...most guys conclude it is not worth it, they really play hard ball... Keep in mind some folks are breeding healthy and attractive D.c. rubidus, and they have fairly diverse blood lines. If you want to learn more about import and export, contact the USFWS, and also foreign governments. It is often a tedious process I am told. Good luck, Vic
