I have never bred splash to splash but from what I've heard, a splash to splash does not produce all splash babies. I have not heard what the % of babies in these breedings were. I have bred splash male to his own offspring and produced a few splash babies but no where near what the odds should be for a homoz to het breeding. I should add that so far I have not had a splash baby survive more than two months. I do not think this is a link to any gene, just bad luck. I hope that the breedings I've done and been told about were scued somehow, but I'm not holding out a tremendous amount of hope just due to my own observations over the last four years. Four breedings of splash to het with a total of four splash babies in litters totaling over 60 babies. ----- Steve Perry North Idaho.
