I have bred this one female to the splash male(her father)four or five times and have produced four splash babies that I could recognise. I have bred this same male to several other females of his decent that have never produced a splash. Some babies could have been but teyt were still born and looked pretty bad by the time I found them. I have also sent a couple of pairs of his offspring to my fathers and he produced one last year with a really jacked up tail. This baby lived longer than most but still would not eat and died. I'm not sure she could have bred anyway due to her tail problem. I have heard that the Bells animals have been fine at birth and I suspect that the issue is with the female and not the young. Mark, I'm not sure what you mean with the " what morph" question.
It could be that the splash is a visible het for a totalydifferent trait also. I don't know how many breedings have been done by the Bells, but if it has been alot then we would have seen the "super" by now. Also, a co-dom type trait would simply produce more splash babies in a litter. ----- Steve Perry North Idaho.
