I need a little advice from anyone with personal experience with golden geckos. My mom took my son to the latest Repticon show in Columbia, SC this weekend (I usually go myself, but I couldn't get off work),and decided to get him a pair of golden geckos that he kept coming back to. He's almost 8,so in reality they're basically my geckos. I personally keep cresteds and a gargoyle, I've had leopards and tokays in the past. Every care sheet I could find online specified that for a pair I would need a 20gal sized cage (I think I have them in a 35 or 40 gal tank, tons of room),substrate that holds humidity (shredded coconut husk, just like I use for everything else), lots of hiding spaces, a water dish that they may or may not use, UV basking light, feed them crickets & mealies ( they like repashy cgd, too.I already found that out), and mist them a couple times a day (same regimen as my other geckos). Am I missing anything? How large do they have to be for breeding? Right now, they're about 5 1/2",maybe 6" long. ----- 0.1 cb'09 loggerhead musk 0.1 cb'09 razorback musk 1.1 cb'09 crested geckos 1.0 cb'09 gargoyle gecko 0.1 crazy ass dachshund (Daisy Mae) 1.0 cb '03 homo sapien(Kaelan,7) "jesus is coming-when i count to 3,everyone jump out and yell SURPRISE!!"
