The puffing up of the throat area was incredible- it looked like it had just swallowed something large (what we orginally thought) then the throat area went back to normal. The first snake I found was large- 2 meters and as big around as my wrist, the second was sunning itself on the road and was much thinner and not as long. I have spent a fair amount of time treking around jungles bird watching, and it is so rare to come across snakes that it was surprising to find 2 of them!
