I see what you mean with Beardies. I've owned one in the past, probably the most tame animal I've come in contact with, but now I'm not really into them. Uro's are really good and beyond easy to care for since they eat loads of veggies. Well it all depends on if you want something simple or exotic?

Simple: I would say either a Uro or even Agama. Beardies are good but more of almost a "kid" reptile, at least that's how I feel about them.

Exotic: Peach throat monitors are fantastic. Little expensive but beautiful to look at, tame pretty good but very fast. Chinese water dragons are very nice too.

Personally, I'd say Peach Throat
Good Luck!
