>>At first I misread "Easter Eggs". Congratulations on a fine clutch and your diligance. Looks like more than 100 Eastern hatchlings will be emerging around the country to add to the captive population. In your photo it appears that eggs are in vermiculite. In the past I've had some indigo eggs swell up too much or burst because I had vermiculite too moist. If you're using just vermiculite I'd suggest mixing in some perlite.

Steve, yes they are in vermiculite. How much perlite would you suggest?
Someone else told me that I should keep the vermiculite on the dryer side. He told me that if it clumps when I squeeze it, it may be too damp.

I have always used a fairly damp vermiculite with other colubrid eggs but if this is a problem for indigo eggs I certainly do not want to do it.

Thanks!

Eric
