Ive set mine up with slightly moist verm but will add some perlite also. Too moist and the eggs will swell up,too dry
of verm and it will pull needed moisture from the egg. I tend to agree with a breeder that says that the eggs dont need to be in contact with a moist substrate until the second half of incubation as long as the humiditys close to 99 percent.
They will get the moisture from the air. The second half
they have to be on moist substrate. So far this has worked
for me. I try to keep the eggs between 72 and 74 but have
minor fluctuations here and there. Day 28 and all 26 are still
going strong. Fingers crossed,of course!
