The scratching is a sure sign....they usually quit eating a few days before as well, although a few do eat right until they lay. Once they are done laying , feed like crazy and supplement with calcium very well. She may begin developing another clutch right away, and females need massive amounts of food, pretty much all the insects and veggies they want. Be sure she stays hydrated at all times, even using a spray bottle to gently spray the tip of her nose if she takes a long time digging.
