A few of the bigger breeders suggested 1 to 30 ratios for mice and rats.... I just built a rack with rather spacious tubs... 17 by 29 concrete tubs from home depot. I have 1 male to 5 - 7 females. the females all come out prego at different times.... I separate pregnant females into their own raising colony, then after the pups are big enough I take them out to be put in large raising tubs. I have several raising tubs, each containing similar sized rodent.....
My litters are 8 to 16 rittens, rups, pups, rat babies whatever you want to call them. Seems like you need enough females to feed your snakes per month. Then feed off of your colonies leaving a few to grow old. Frozen thaw is the way to go... you can breed like crazy for a bit.... then cool it for awhile and survive off your freezer. Also factor in time for moms off breeding and actually taking care of babies, then factor in when they retire and how many replacements you will need
