I don't know that I would have time to be a guide, but as hot as it has been around here you will have to mostly stick to roadhunting at night.

If you drive 30 minutes south of the city and drive some quiet country roads, you should have no trouble finding some snakes on the road. If it rains it will be a lot better. Both the southeast, southwest and southern parts of the city are productive.

The roads in the quiet wooded areas east of the city are also good for herps. Again, rain helps.

Flipping trash, etc. around here at this time of year is pretty slow. If we get a big rains storm (i.e. tropical storm), you might find some stuff under trash on a cool morning.

If you want to see a few thousand turtles, you could go to Mitchell Lake Audubon Sanctuary on the south side of town. That place is crawling with Trachemys and softshells.
