Hi all,

I have been hatching ball pythons since '95 and have never had a fertile clutch go more than 55 days at 88F. This year I have a clutch of het x het pieds that still had not pipped at 62 days. The egg clutch seperated easily over a week ago, which signals that they are almost ready, but they were still un-pipped as of last night.

Well, in my zeal to find out if my female was in fact a het, I pipped them myself this morning. Note, I have been pipping python eggs for 20 years, so I know how to do it, so there was little danger of damage. Anyway, I gently opened all of the eggs and all of the babies were sitting comfortably in hatching position, nose up, alive and well, indicating that they are about ready to make the move.

I was just wondering what your longest incubation times have been. I've certainly had other species go longer, and I know that ball pythons can go longer, but this is the first time it has occured in my experience.

Thanks!

Will

PS - Oh yeah, she proved out. I have one confirmed pied in the clutch, alive and well.
