I rolled over a log in my horse pen today and found two clutches of 5 lined skink eggs. I saw one of the moms run off. Felt bad about that, but put them in some vermiculite/perlite medium and in my warm closet where I hatch my snake eggs. I hope this medium isn't too moist, it was dry as a bone under that log. We've had no rain lately in my part of N. Florida.

From what I read, the mom stays with the eggs until they hatch and then a few days afterwards. And, that they hatch in 25 days or so. Also that they gain size as they get closer to hatching.

The first eight eggs in the picture below are from one clutch. They are pinker and larger than the others. We'll see what hatches!

I wonder if they'll eat small meal worms? I'd like to feed them before I release them.
