Your best bet is to pick up a copy of "The More Complete Chondro" by Greg Maxwell. This book will cover most of your questions from differences in locality and captive husbandry. Tons of other info and full of great pictures as well.

Purchase from a green tree python BREEDER. I would strongly suggest avoiding a farm bred baby from a jobber.

Do it right, and you will fall in love with this species. Do it wrong and you will become frustrated with them.
