I love those tortoises, they look so primitive and prehistoric (I know they are but they really look it.).
I have some malaysian leaf turtles (cyclemys dentata.) and was told by the jobber I got them from that his source over in Indo gets all his animals from the food markets. I lost two of the five I originally got but 4 years later the other 3 are doing great. I think if they were capable of that kind of thought process (perhaps they are.) they would agree that life is much better now than if they had ended up on someone's dinner plate.
