Hey guys, havent been on here in a LOOOOOONG time. I used to be on here almost everyday. I have grown up got a job, just started reading other forums on crested geckos and rtbs as I have a few of each. I used to have everything from ground squirrels to yellow anacondas..etc, I recently visited a petstore not to far from my hometown to pickup some extra mice, crickets, CGD etc... and found myself in a shack of a shop looking at this poor juvi columbian tegu. He was in a small critter keeper, keep in mind he is almost a ft long, with a small peice of newspaper and and a small water dish I asked to hold him and he didnt even try to bite or run when I picked him up. I decided to save him and talked the guy down to 30 bucks for him as he looked malnurished.I knew the bad reputation of the columbian tegu, but I didnt realize EVERYONE I read about is pretty much agressive and flighty. I got him home have been taking him out and locking myself in the bathroom with him and feeding him chicken gizzards chopped up and some boiled eggs with calcium. He doesnt try to bite, he does hiss and open his mouth. I can hold him and if I sit long enough he does come and sit with me. I was just wondering if there is any hope in taming the columbian tegu? I really would like to keep him and give him the life he would have never had, I figured I have kept tree boas, and yellow anacondas and have had luck with keeping them semi-docile. I figured I could handle him. Even if there is no hope of taming him I will keep him and take very good care of him. If there is anybody out there that has successfully either tamed or has a handleable one just let me know I want to know if it is possible.
pics or videos appreciated.

Thanks, Matt
