It's a male, and has since changed ground color to a pale yellowish buff (the picture does not quite capture his real-life colors). He fathered his first clutch this year, 5 slugs and three viable eggs. Unfortunately, they went moldy. I did a post mortem on the eggs, and embryos were developing before they succumbed to the mold.
