can I start a new colony with new male?

I have a small colony of 1-4 but I want to start another colony.Im pretty new to mice so dont know if it matters.But I need to get a fresh male.Should I take 3 very young females out of the old colony to start a new one with a new male from the store? Will they fight?

So far Ive gotten lots of babies out of the older colony and dont want mess that up.But I really need to expand soon.
