Larger males have been found and I believe the record is slightly over 15 feet. There is also a smaller degree of sexual size dimorphism seen in this species as compared to other python species, with older adult females typically between 15 and 18 feet. Females over 18 feet would be considered exceptionally large. There is much controversy over the record size for this species and the 32 feet Ivory Coast specimen is often cited. However, quality evidence for verification of this record is lacking, and a 25 feet 9 inch female specimen from Cameroon is generally accepted as the current record for this species. Also of interest to note is that because of its large natural range, the size of P. sebae does vary geographically and the larger specimens appear to be from West African countries.
