Where do GC toads defecate?

I have a newly acquired gulf coast toad from southeast texas. I thought it was an american tod at first but it has a vibrant yellow stripe running down its back. That makes me think its a gulfcoast toad.

I have the terrarium setup with a hide, water dish, and soil substrate. Im currently feeding it Mealworms

Where will the toad defecate? Will it poop in the water dish or soil? I ask so i will know where to cleanup.

Also are htere any tips as to how to sex it?
