Usually its fairly simple to do so; especially if its a captive born one.

First thing I'd do is check to make sure cage temperatures aren't too high as this can cause aggression. You also should be starting to use a hook on it by now. Most Burmese pythons will calm down quite a bit once they're out of their cage.

As a last resort, you can lower the overall cage temperature down to about 80 degrees Fahrenheit for just a few hours to actually "chill it out." I don't suggest leaving overall cage temps down that low for much longer than needed due to running the risk of a respiratory infection. This shoud be the last resort.

I would only handle it for just a few minutes, once a day, every day or every other day. It's really not a matter of "taming" it, but more like - you've got to earn its trust. Slow movements while holding it.
