I would think it largely depends on locality and bloodlines and to a lesser extent, food intake; mainland Granites reach about the same sizes as mainland normals from what I have seen. There are however, Dwarf forms as well from Bali and Sulawesi that tend to reach six or seven feet. Some recognize them as a seperate subspecies, P. b. progschai.
