Early this spring I picked up a pair of Ocellated Sudanese and got 7 eggs. I'm pretty sure they were collected during 'mating season' because eggs came almost immediately with no real encouragement. Anyways, all but 1 egg has died because ExoTerra incubators SAY that the temperature is 92, when in fact it is 84/83. The one egg that's left was laid in May... do the math on that. Nothing inherently says its dead; no fungus, no rotting, still firm, so I keep it in there.
But this brings me to my second point. I believe she just got mated again because she is gaining weight and had a fresh battle scar on her side. That's all fine and dandy, I can try again with her, but I also have a single female ornate floating around. I know they are very closely related to the Sudanese, but has anyone tried crossing the two? I introduced them for a second to see how they'd react and she ran up and started biting his sides. I was doing yardwork so I decided to save true introduction for another day. Anyone think they can breed?
