I dig that Kingsnake. My first Striped Racer got away too. I foolishly tried to catch it, when I'm pretty sure I could have gotten a photo. I few years later I "saved face" by finding one under a rock in the morning, when it was still quite cool temperature-wise. That one proved easy to catch.
