Hey guys I'm real worried about my Golden Gecko named Geico.

He's been the family pet for about 10 years. I accidentally pulled his tail off about 6-7 years ago and it grew back and he was fine.

Unfortunately yesterday I was changing his water bowl and right when I was about to close the lid of the aquarium he sprinted out and his tail got caught. It was bruised and kind of flopping around, and when I tried to pick him up he just dropped it.

I'd say he dropped about 75-80% of it. For the rest of the day he was a little active in his cage but I watched him get to the point where he just stayed under his lamp all night long and hes doing it all morning too.

I don't wanna say he's lethargic...if I get close to him he will react quite well with his head and he moves quickly when I mist him lightly. He did get up and crawl around the side of the cage for about 45 minutes last night before he went back to the rock under the light.

It worries me to see him in the same spot for such a long period of time, is he just in shock? Is it okay for him to be under the light for such a long time?
