The feature this video shows that is so interesting is the coloration of the ocular stripe. In very general terms it has appeared that the northern population or the Orinoco River basin population of green anaconda tends to have the mostly yellow-orange ocular stripe coloration compared to the predominately green based ocular stripe coloration of the southern populations, or the Amazon Basin population. However, there have been a few exceptions and this has not been accepted by some as a definitive characteristic of locality. I have looked at more than a hundred photos of greens with locality data, and have found this to be true with probably at least 95% of the specimens. This individual is of the Amazon Basin population and most definitely exhibits the green ocular stripe so predominant in that population. Thanks much for sharing this video.
