The government should have to compensate financhially for any animals they take from people. In the case of commercial breeders the value of any potential offspring of confiscated animals should also be compensated for.

This should be written into all of these proposed bans and we should try to get a legislator to introduce ammendments to that effect everytime one of these bans comes up. If we can get the wording into a version even if it doesn't pass it may make lawmakers think a bit harder next time.

If we can find similar analogies, perhaps in eminent domain laws, that might help our case.
