Posted by: jburokas at Wed Dec 7 18:20:04 2011 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by jburokas ] I keep and breed Argus Monitors, and Flavirufus pure, and Ackies and a whole boatload of species of Monitors for a decade now. I have to disagree that there's that much of a difference in any of them. All the Gouldii types launch themselves out of the cages for food, Flavirufus included. I've been tagged by more Flavi's than Argus actually for whatever reason (internet folklore that they're not food aggressive? ). Heck, my Ackies launch themselves and bite at anything that's moving too....just that they can be handled a little easier without sustaining an "ER bite". But most all Monitors are nutty and flighty if kept sufficiently hot enough - you can't beat that out of them as it's their nature (and personally I like that attitude). That's just Monitors. Don't buy a Monitor if you need to hold a lizard....buy a Beardie or Blue Tongue or something else with less of a will and drive. But yeah, an adult male Argus is a 4.5-5 foot animal....not exactly small. [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Show Entire Thread ] | ||
