About 20 years ago, I was going thru a trash pile in Cocoa, Florida. Having caught Mole Kingsnakes before in North Carolina, I was quite familiar with them. Much to my surprise, flipping over some of the trash, I found a juvenile Mole Kingsnake approximately 8 inches long. I took it home and had it for 10 years until it finally died. I have never found another one since. Apparently they are rare here in Florida, but at the time I didn't know that. Too bad yours was trampled.
