If we were that concerned with the environmental impact of our pets, we'd do everything that we could to round up and destroy every cat in the US. They are already entrenched in EVERY part oF EVERY state killing multiple specimens of multiple native species DAILY. Burmese pythons only have a noteworthy presence in a PART of ONE state.

Please note also that there are also feral cats in the everglades as well-eating the same
species that the burms do.

This doesn't just mean the feral cats released by irresponsible cat owners but also any house cat that is allowed outside ever.

So, sure, if we want to play the "environment game," let's do the most effective thing we can. After cat owners have made their sacrifice, reptile owners will make theirs.
