How active are Gilas in their cages?

I'm considering getting a Gila Monster merely as a display animal. I already have nice Boaphile cages and will be able to maintain heat and etc, but I'm wondering how Gilas do as display animals? Do they stay in the same place for hours or days or do they become active in the evening and can be found moving around? Thanks.
