Not all will agree, but I think you're spot on correct, and your PS comment at the end embodies what I've seen so far. Many of the genuine die-hard Burmese enthusiasts have been waiting for prices to drop on rare morphs to an affordable price, and are now scrambling to get their designer dream python while they still can. These people don't care if one day they can't ship the animal's offspring across state lines one day because they don't ever plan on letting it leaving their possession once acquired. I've sold several animals TODAY, all to people who are aware of the upcoming shipping prohibition and contacted me for exactly that reason.
I have an amazing hypo granite that I could sell today and ship tomorrow for a profit, but I'll keep it for the rest of it's life because I think it's awesome, and I want watch it grow into the crazy purple and yellow leviathan it will one day become. It's not about the profitability, it's about the passion.
PS. I know a guy who could help you with that desire to own a lucy female burm, wink wink.
