I've read generally that these are the same species, and that the anomala, or Korean phase, was simply the southern phase with a lighter color.

I've since read that the species was officially separated in 2002 for being recognizably different. So what about behavior & temperament?

Amur/Russians/Manchurians as a class have the reputation for their active, curious nature and for being the "friendliest of large snakes". This was supposed to also be true of the Koreans. Dealers and many hobbyists claim that the behavior is the same.

The Ratsnake Foundation and other hobbyists disagree, and state that behavior is more nervous and that Koreans are more prone to nip and not quite as personable.

What is your experience, or the experience of contacts who have had one or both?

0.1 Lampropeltis getula californiae (Los Angeles County Coastal Banded morph)
1.0 Pantherophis obsoletus rossalleni
