I never said you initiated the petition.
But I am a bit concerned in your insistence that everyone sign this or else it will be held over our heads. If "the powers that be" wouldn't take it seriously if it garnered 50,000 signatures, why would they take it seriously if it only garnered 500? If they see petitions as worthless, then they see petitions as worthless regardless of the number of signatures.
Besides, are we supposed to go hunting around the internet for all of the various incarnations of "reverse the python ban" petitions (I've lost track of how many I've seen, but it's been SEVERAL) to ensure that each and every one of them get 100,000 signatures? If that's what you believe, then our opposition has an easy fight ahead of them. Just create 1 new petition per day and force our community to sign them all or risk having one of them presented against us as a failure.
I hope that this illustrates why the vast majority of us aren't worried about this petition, or any other that's been started and that you shouldn't concern yourself with it either. There are better ways to spend our time, energy, and effort - yours too
The only petition for our cause that I'm willing to sign is one that has the backing of a large organization (such as USARK) because without a large organizational "push", it's unlikely that any petition will garner much attention.
jb ----- What's written above is purely my opinion. In fact, MOST of what you read on the internet is someone's opinion. Don't take it too seriously
