Sorry for not being around...I am STILL in Afghanistan but I have been moved AGAIN to a crappy location and have lost my good internet. Now all I have is turtlenet... But I am still alive and all the Golden corns are doing very well - except one:...Sad news: The Original Golden corn has passed away this winter... She did not fatten up like all the others and began to eat less and less late last year. I could tell she was getting older the last few years as here colors started to fade and more black was showing up where here bright blotches were. I never knew how old she was, since she was found as an adult back in 2004, but at least she was around long enough to produce some offspring for me. As I said the rest of the corns are doing VERY well, some I even had to put on a diet last year, as they were getting a little obese. They are still hibernating for a few more weeks....

Amanda...I JUST noticed your post from 9 Dec...Sorry for the slow response, but it is never ending hectic here...But I do enjoy my job over here assisting the Air Force and Army accomplish their many missions. I have also helped out some of my family members back in the states that were less fortunate than I, which means I will probably be here a little longer in order to do what I need to do to finally take care of ME!!!!!!! But this should be my last year over here (It's been over THREE years already).

Yes, I am finally getting tired - tired of being here......LOL!

Here's a pic of the ORIGINAL, (first) Golden corn in her prime back in 2004, (it was sad to see here go):
