Getting mine to eat out of my hand the the best thing i did to calm mine down. He's 17 months now and dog tame . I used a stick with a peace of banana on it and after he ate that off the stick calmly , i then moved my hand down the stick . As long as he remained calm i moved my hand 1-2'' every other week until he was eating within a 1'' of my hand . Them he ate off the palm of my hand . I then move my hand away from his basking rock and made him reach so far he had to step on my hand to get the banana , then i added my other had so he had to step on both hand to reach the food . when he got to that stage i would move him up slowly up and down and then put him gently back on his basking rock . After he did this calmly i would raise him a little higher each week until i could hold hi outside his cage . This worked for me and mine has been tame now and able to hold him for over 8 months . This worked for him . BUT i did ot rush anything and did it at his pace . I have had him less than a year .
