I`m pleased to hear the second monitor is alive and feeding, hopefullly before he/she is full grown you might get a quick look!
I bought a small hand-held steam gun on ebay for approx £20($30 U.S), they are excellent for sanitising and deodorising inside the enclosure, though onviously, you have relatively large one, but because there are no chemicals they are very safe, even using directly on glass, and they get in all the little nooks and crannies.
As far as other inverts in the soil, they can be very useful.
